A new security marker loan system has been launched through libraries in the fight against crime.

Ynyshir & Wattstown Communities First office has also been designated to hold one of these kits.

Kits containing an ultraviolet marker pen and tools to etch your postcode on a valuable item such as a stereo or TV will be available in the office from this month.

The idea by Rhondda Cynon Taff crime reduction panels is to encourage people to security-mark their valuable property so if their home is burgled there is some way of tracing the items back to them.

The kits come inside a plastic case similar to a videotape case with instructions for use and will be available on loan for a limited time only from the Communities First office in Ynyshir.

All you need to do is telephone the office 01443 686610 or mobile 07786 523 982 and ask if the kit is available. If so you can come along and collect it that day or if it isn’t available you can go on a waiting list and we will telephone you when the kit becomes available.
